Borderlands Line
Bidston -> Upton (Merseyside)
According to the timetable (weekday daytimes) trains typically depart Bidston at xx:32, and arrive Upton at xx:33.
The stations are around a mile and three quarters apart by rail, and there's a sharp bend in the track just outside Bidston.
The Sheffield to Manchester local stopping service seems to have great difficulty keeping to time. Many times I've been stood at Reddish North and the train is anything up to 10 mins late.
Doesn't it sometimes happen where trains never run to time? For example on NRE before a train has even left it can be expected to depart the origin ontime, be 2 minutes late throughout and arrive at the terminus on time?
That often happens because it is delayed at Sheffield by the Cleethorpes - Manchester Airport service, booked to leave Sheffield 3 mins. before the stopping service.The Sheffield to Manchester local stopping service seems to have great difficulty keeping to time. That is probably because the WTT is probably 2 minutes later than the GBTT (Passenger Timetable)!
PTT differential there again, WTT times are 4 minutes between the two stations. That whole service seems incredibly odd as there are differentials at every stop.
XC Voyagers between Plymouth and Totnes are not booked enough time, and nearly always arrive at the due departure time and leave up to 2 minutes behind time.
Leaving Plymouth at xx.25 and arriving Totnes is xx.49 just does not seem possible - especially with the slow approach to Totnes of 25 mph! Can't think of a time I have ever been on a voyager that has arrived at Totnes as booked at xx.49, even on the first train of the morning!
