I am travelling to Mallaig on Thursday and would like to know if with an anytime return I can spread my return over a few days. I would like to stop off over night in Fort William and Corrour on my way back to Glasgow. I think this is allowed on an anytime return but i have never done it before so would like to be sure so anyone who could tell me for sure would be very helpful.

In general, yes. But I would feel much more confident giving advice if I knew your origin station.

There may be cheaper tickets than an Anytime Return which allow you to this. Again, it depends on the origin.

Yes, all Anytime tickets allow unlimited breaks of journey within the validity of the ticket (five days outward and one month back, in the case of an Anytime Return). Similarly, off-peak return tickets allow unlimited breaks of journey on the return portion, within the ticket's one month validity. Some off-peak returns restrict BoJ on the outward portion but that doesn't affect you.

The only stations that affect the fare are your starting station and destination (on the ticket) where the breaks take place does not affect the fare. Do you need an anytime for a particular reason that an off-peak ticket can not provide? From what station are you buying the ticket to Mallaig?

The Off Peak Return Fare for Glasgow to Mallaig is the same price as the Anytime Return Fare.
