Guess.
I'm trying to plan a journey from Cambridge to Truro and back in 3 weeks time. I was hoping that as it's 3 weeks away there'd be some nice cheap advances still available but it doesn't seem to be the case. I suppose trains out of Paddington are all too busy to allow for cheap tickets? Can anyone help find the cheapest way to do this journey, perhaps using split tickets?

Cambridge to Truro
Depart 24/08/12 any time after 17:00
Return 27/08/12 any time between 10:00 and 16:00
One adult
One network railcard

I can't seem to be able to do it for less than £100. :(

Unfortunately Burtshire, that site doesn't seem to have anything for Cambridge to Truro.

TP

No - but try it for parts of the journey - like London to Truro

and look at the Waterloo Exeter route as well including megatrain

You would be hard pressed to find really cheap deals this close to travel and at such popular times. Are you willing to travel at awkward times for a reduction in ticket price?

On the outward it looks like the only service is the 1937 - on a Friday before Bank Holiday.

What is wrong with the sleeper? The OP has not stated either way.

The only way I can see this being done for under £100 involves going on a coach between Exeter and London on the way back, being a Bank Holiday weekend.
