The blockade at Stalybridge is from Saturday 27th October to Sunday 4th November 2012 inclusive.
TPE services will run as follows during the weekday daytime:
1 tph Scarborough to Huddersfield
1 tph Hull to Huddersfield
1 tph Middlesbrough to Manchester Victoria not serving Huddersfield
1 tph Newcastle to Liverpool Lime Street not serving Huddersfield
The Newcastle to Liverpool service will run as 3 cars. The Middlesbrough to Manchester service will run as 6 cars between York and Manchester as much as possible.
The Middlesbrough service will call additionally at Hebden Bridge, Todmorden & Rochdale to replace a Northern service that will be withdrawn to free up capacity for the diverted TPE services.
The Liverpool service will call additionally at Newton le Willows to connect
with a replacement bus to Warrington Central.
Buses will run Huddersfield to Manchester Airport direct.
Buses will run Huddersfield to Manchester Victoria / Ashton under Lyne call all stations.
I believe there is a plan to run some buses Huddersfield to Guide Bridge / Stockport to connect with trains to Manchester Piccadilly.
There will be no buses Manchester Victoria to Piccadilly / Airport, although some trains early morning / late evening will run through via Salford Crescent.
There is insufficient traincrew & rolling stock to provide services between Liverpool and Manchester via Warrington Central, although it is hoped to run some peak hour services on this route. The initial plan was for a Northern service to be diverted that way, instead of using the chat moss route, but I have not seen confirmation of this.
As regards it taking place during half term, my view is that this is a bad idea. While the morning and late afternoon peak may be slightly quieter due to less school / college traffic, the daytime off peak traffic will be a lot busier than normal, which will cause problems. Eg, the daytime semi fast Northern service along the Calder Valley (the one being withdrawn) is very quiet during the day during term time, but is very busy during the day during school holiday time.
