Shall be going. It's a bit easier to get to than Carlisle from this end of the country!

I was thinking of going, still not sure at the moment, I enjoyed the last one in 2010

My dad & I are going as are the Parsons clan. We're going up the day before (to spend time at Stafford) and they are travelling up on the morning. I think we're going to meet up at the station so if you do go, feel free to join us to wander there.

A few of us are flying over to Liverpool on Saturday morning then onto Crewe. I myself will probably do some GM645 haulage to Holyhead instead, if i remember correctly the last time there were hours of queuing involved and i have no patience whatsoever. I'd also rather keep travelling than standing around looking at engines in a shed that you can't take photos of due to the amount of people around.

Would sure be nice if they told us about the entry price, whether you need to book, how early you need to arrive to guarantee entrance if not, what locos we can expect, etc etc... I actually did start a thread about this a few weeks back, in the general section I believe.

Pretty sure it's a charitable donation but don't expect to sneak past the bucket !

Just checked back , Kingmoor was a minimum donation of £5 last year.

Although Crewe is smaller I can see that being the benchmark.

Do kinda need conclusive answers about this before Saturday, if possible! Thanks!

I don't think that there are any!

The advice above starting with the linked flyer in the OP is that gates open at 10am.

Further, as it is a charity day a donation is expected, at similar events the nominal minimum expected was £5.

It is non-ticket and 'first come first served' which I take to mean that whilst number restriction is not expected there is a maximum number of people that the site can accomodate at any one time.

I guess that this is the most worrying aspect for anyone travelling a good distance.

FWIW I am intending to go (from Norwich) so will take my chance!

Ah OK thanks! So what about the post that now seems to have vanished claiming an entry charge at the Heritage Centre?
