Has the 'autocomplete' on the RailMiles Mileage Engine stopped working for anyone else?

nor me and I need to work out some underground mileage. National rail is easy enough but the underground is more fiddly! Hopefully it'll be working soon.

Those looking for Underground distances can find them on the first few pages of the Working Timetables. You'll just have to convert them from proper sensible measurements into miles & chains.

Note that some Timetables are out of date (not that that matters).

Surprisingly, I am in the lead after today. :D

I guess I have to enjoy it while it lasts.

Wow, some of you have been very busy! :o Was nice being at the top for a few hours

Looks like I might have to try for some mileage tomorrow after all, feels like forever since I got back from Brussels!

I've found out the distance from Surrey Quays to Queens Road Peckham through an FOI request to TfL:
Transport for London said:
The length/distance between Surrey Quays and Queens Road Peckham stations on the new London Overground extension is 2.32km
2.32km equates to 1 mile 35 chains when rounded down.

---

On an unrelated note, my mileage now stands at 418 miles after a trip to Basingstoke and Reading (including a very cold unheated run on 465909+465907 between Waterloo East and Tonbridge).

Anyone know the mileages for Harbour City to Media City UK and Trafford Bar to St Werburgh's Road (Metrolink)?

Tyne & Wear Metro station distances have now been obtained via an FoI request. All measurements are in metres.

Excellent, many thanks for that as I'm doing a Tyne and Wear Metro bash next month and will find this incredibly useful. Surprised the data isn't in the Quail to be honest!

I suspect a FoI request wouldn't work for Brussels Metro mileages though...

I'm up to 3425 miles after my trip up North last week. This doesn't yet include any tram and underground mileage I have done this year.

Save a quick couple of mile journey early on in January, Saturday saw my first mileage of this year. I had meant to go to Bishops Stortford, but ended up in Clapham :| Not that I'm too fussed, I got the new p2 at Clapham Jn and link between Surrey Quays and Queens Rd Peckham done, as well as obtaining the SWT and FGW timetable booklets, which saves me a job later on. The weather went somewhat against me this weekend but I suspect the worst of the snow has gone for the first half of this year, plus the longer daylight now means more time to line bash :D Uni taster days and various other events mean my days out are somewhat more limited than they were this time last year, but I guess that just means I'll have to enjoy the days I do get out even more! :)

I was originally looking at doing a Freedom of the North East rover during January, but the snow and some short notice overtime lead to this being cancelled. Still, I've managed a respectable 880mi 22ch during January, with a trip to London and a large loop around the North East to cover Crewe - Lancaster, Heysham Port and Carlisle to Newcastle. Some enjoyable days out - just wish I'd been able to do the latter today, as it's so much warmer (here anyway!).

Does anyone have the mileage for the new LO connection to Surrey Quays. I did this yesterday to get onto the East London Line but can't seem to find the data anywhere.

Apologies if this has already been asked

As mentioned before, the Railmiles.org autocomplete doesn't seem to be working. How can I go about getting mileages for London Overground/Underground where there often stations on different lines, etc?
eg Waterloo-Green Park (Jubille Line) or Hammersmith-Paddington (Circle).

See my post a few up from here for a link to a file that has distances between underground stations. Needs a bit of work but not too hard. You can choose the line then the direction (although thats not critical). You can then add the distances between two stations by temporarily creating a formula to get the sum (use =sum(x:y) ) between a set of stations and then converting the answer into miles by multiplying by 0.621371192. Not as easy as rail miles but thats been broken for a few weeks now. Hope all that made sense!

Not sure about Overground but for all national rail stations I have been using the 3 letter station code to get the distances between the two.

According to GENSHEET quoting Enginneers' Line References it is 1m40ch

Have just added a temporary update, been away for two weeks in case anybody is wondering about the huge leap in mileage. The true figure is over 6,000; still need to add the last day and get the exact distances now I have the correct "gen" in my grubby little mitts (have been using timetable distances which are reasonably accurate but rounded up or down)

Some of these differ from Quail Volume 2. Which is likely to be more accurate?

I suspect that some of the FoI figures are approximates.

Is there anything hugely different?

Having investigated I suspect Quail of being in error. It does say "subject to correction". Worst differences are 200m more in Quail Tinsley to Meadowhall and also between Woodbourn Road and Nunnery Square. They have 200m LESS than your list Shalesmoor to Netherthorpe Road. The majority agree though.
