More good photos, Tim. The last one makes me smile - millions of quids worth of hardware, sophisticated computers, and still we need a plastic bag and some duct tape.

Also found a shot from 2006 of Taff Vale #85 running post-Christmas specials on a rather wetter January:

The freighter caught me out somewhat, not the best photo.

Took my new baby for a walk today - a Nikon D600 - and it performed excellently on the first 60 seen on the Rylstone Tilcon for a good few years:

Heard about this little treat from DRS at York station so managed to arrange to cover a day in York to let the company pay my train fare over there then took a few shots on the way to and from:

What days does the log train run, and what time did it go through Appleby?

According to the Freightmaster tables it runs every day Monday - Friday heading south through Kirkby Stephen at 14.05 (if on time) so roughly 13:50pm at Appleby.

Getting prepped for a trip out to Vietnam at the end of the month, a lot to do in my days off. Plus I prefer my trains free range...!

You should not make excuses for showing passengers units.:D
The class 333 is a very attractive train.
It would have been better if not blurred!!!;)

Nice to see the photos though, cheers.

Tommorow 'The Great Marquess' is leaving KWVR to York, so two days two LNER mainline engines!

I videoed 62005 at Kirkstall.

A day out in Leeds shopping for my upcoming USA expedition meant a train trip into Leeds and some careful timing to see the EMT HSTs and a WCRC ECS, plus a surprise freighter.

Not got the headcode, it just appeared as a VSTP Hunslet Yard to York South Yard working. It was just three hoppers, I'm guessing they were being moved for maintenance.

I don't believe there are any scheduled Freightliner freight movements through Leeds station, the Tilcoln trains are usually the only freights that pass through.

There is the Wednesday and Friday only Freightliner Oxwellmains - Hunslet cement, although it is on an 'as required' basis.
Also on a Wednesday there is the Lindsey to Neville Hill oil tanks, and the return working.
As well as the daily Rylstone trains, one in each direction.

Thanks, I have a shot of the tanks back in the early 2000s behind a 60, I should get that scanned in some day.

Until then, just getting wet on Monday popping down to Steeton to catch a couple of passing freighters:

And a 150 oddly advertising Heysham Port when in fact operating a Morecambe service:

Some nice shot's there.
I used to live at the side of the Aire Valley route in Horsforth, so it is always good to see what is happening on the line.

By the way Freightmaster has a timetable for Leeds station which is where I got my info from.

A little disappointed this Sunday morning Network Rail movement didn't throw up anything more interesting:

A little later some WCRC Pullman stock returning to Carnforth after a Saturday charter:

A mixed day today, ended up walking down the station three times (staying fit!). A poor start as I got rumbled on the routine Monday light engine 66 (although it was at least a duplicate) by a departing 333 and then a pair of duplicates on the Morecambe train.

Things picked up with a new 66 - 66192 on the ex-Redcar hoppers.

A mysterious WCRC working had appeared on RTT in the morning, from the NRM to Carnforth so I aimed to head down and photograph this as well since WCRC workings are at least a GM free zone no matter what they are. Fortunately I kept my eye on the site as it passed an hour early. Turned out to be 37706 (duplicate) towing 5972 as Hogwarts Castle which was new to me.

Finally a walk back down to see the NMT come through. The WTT path is on every week so I never thought to look except for a helpful post on a gen forum. Already seen all three locos but not seen the set on the Airedale Line so worth a final walk for the photo:
