I know there are many Flickr users on this site and i urge you all to log into your accounts and see what has happened to Flickr! <(<(<(

It also seems that us pro account holders may have been royally ripped off. They appear to have taken all of the good bits and, well destroyed them!

the comments her are interesting: http://www.flickr.com/help/forum/en-us/72157633547442506/ (mine are on p13):

what the hell have Flickr just done?????????????????????????

What a total and utter steaming pile of horse manure designed by pea brain numbskulls and implemented by intellectual pygmies who couldn't see a good thing it came along and smacked them in the face with a bloody wet mackerel!

It looks like a crap version of facebook which will no doubt attract the same level of semi brained amoeba that use that site looking for the lols or the rofls or some such brainless bull ordure.

Why have you done away with all the minimalism? That was a major selling point. Now it is all in your face, brianless and American. Change it back !

Also what was the point with parting with my hard earned cash for a pro account? thanks for ripping me off.

Finally have you total and utter morons never heard the old maxim if it aint broke dont fix it?

it is ghastly - they have ruined all of the simple intuitive interactive bits AND destroyed the community feel. idiots.

I've made my feelings clear on page 25.

I just wrote a massive post and tried to preview it, but it's completely vanished and I'm not writing it out again, so I'll just be blunt instead.

Flickr: go shove your new layout up your ****.

It really is a step backwards. There are many things I don't like about the new format, but the main problem for me, cursed as I am with a ****poor broadband speed (0.5 Mb), is that it takes for ever to load each page. <(

Have they got rid of the pro option, and now everyone has unlimited access?

Thanks, Sam

That's the way of websites. For some reason a lot feel that if they don't redesign every 2 weeks people will get bored and move on. Blame Bill Gates who introduced constant change for change's sake - at least he did it for the money, constantly changing windows and then charging for every upgrade.

Haven't used Flickr in ages but the new layout is horrible. You might be better off creating your own website, or a WordPress account, and sticking your photographs on there.

And there was me thinking that Bill and his team were always patching and upgrading Windows
(a) to try and make it work reliably without crashing
(b) to catch up with what Steve Jobs and his team had already done. :D

Mine used to be fine, now it has taken 5 minutes and still hasnt loaded.
There is nothing wrong with the internet download speed either.

Flickr was a nice clean, simple thing to use now its all flashy colours and "fluffy" rubbish, looks like the search for another hosting site starts.

There are quite a few people recommending ipernity, which does appear to be similar to the old Flickr style.
If there's no change or option to go back to the old style, I think I'll be looking to move there instead.

I am loathe to bail out and go somewhere else as I have invested time and money on that site. I have spent a long time putting pictures up with captions, tags, geo tags, placing them in groups, crafting sets and collections etc.

I know my pictures aren’t David Bailey class but it has helped me improve and share my work with others. I am going to try it in the hope all that functionality is still there under the hideous surface.

I'm not keen on it at all, the simple functionality of the old style (that made it so easy to use) has gone, and the layout is poorly judged, some things are too large, others too small!

I'm not a stick in the mud who hates change, but this just isn't progress, I will however, persevere, and see if things improve.

Oh happy days, I never expected Flickr to become a hybrid cross-breed between a Windows Phone and Facebook. :(

I will admit, the new photostream is pretty smart and vibrant, however it seems to me that the photo page in particular is an absolute mess (it's bad page design when you have to scroll down for the description).

I'm not a member but I like it. The search function before was slow, clunky, and the thumbnails too small to browse smoothly without constantly going in and out of people's albums

I absolutely hate the new Flickr, it runs a lot slower and it's harder to find all the different options. I think it looks alright, but I'm also annoyed about the fact that the pro subscription I've had for a year is now prettymuch worthless.

The old one might have looked a bit outdated, but it ran fast and you could easily find your way around it.

This new version is ok but less superior to the previous version as well as being very slow to load.

The only good point is that I can view all my photos rather than just the most recent 200 without having to buy a pro-account which I was planning on doing but wont bother until I get closer to my limit

Well, having now signed up to ipernity, it appears that they're definitely on the ball, with the imminent introduction of an importer for moving 180 photos across from Flickr at a time (though it does require Firefox).

I'm going to wait for a bit to see if there's any improvement to this new style before totally moving to ipernity.

The problem is i have over 14,000 pictures at 180 pictures a time it will take me 79 goes to move them all!

It also wont have the community there is (was?) on flickr - such a shame they chose to destroy all that in one go by chasing the idiotic pea brain facebook types.
