Does anyone know if Northern will be running specials to and from Picc to the Halt on Saturday for the RL Grand Final event?

Staff have been rostered down the halt, so 100% sure. Last year most service ran Oxford Rd-Halt only

Won't be much need for the halt soon the way Manchester United are in self destruct mode, lol!

Not many fans travelling from Yorkshire for the final. The RFL has got the final they wanted.

I would have prefered Huddersfield Vs. Leeds Final.

At least the Huddersfield line will be less congested.

Got times now:

Trains leave Piccadilly at 16:11, 16:42, 17:11 and 17:42 with extra trains from Oxford Rd at 16:35 and 17:01.

Trains back are at 2019, 2050 and 2110 with Trains to Oxford Rd only at 1955 and 2035

The year before last there was a 'rostering error' resulting in some of the normal services being cancelled due to crews being unavailable even though the match day specials all ran.

Is there figures for the Station that show if Passenger numbers increases or fall depending on United's form?
And can they tell if they get a disproportionate figure for those travelling from outside Manchester compared to other Football ground Stations?

I don't think through tickets to Old Trafford are available so they only know how many ticketed passengers travel between Manchester city centre and the ground. In the same Arriva Merseyside have no idea about how many people travelling to Anfield arrived at Lime Street from a station outside of the Liverpool area.

They have had supporter Trains for both Teams travelling to the Derby from London.

If they do run I suspect it will be the same as last year, not using 323 units. They used a 150+156 last time if I remember correctly?

150+156 gives approx 280 seats (assuming a refurbished 150)
323 gives approx 280 seats (assuming it's one of the 323s that doesn't have extra luggage space)

So I imagine they just didn't have enough 323s on the day. Sometimes one of the Airport diagrams gets it's 323 nabbed for the match day shuttles and gets a 150 or similar instead.

Based on the time from Piccadilly, the services will be an extension of the Airport/Crewe trains. Plus at that time on a Saturday a 323 is booked back onto Longsight giving a bit of slack in trains

Thanks for taking the trouble to advise, Thomas.
It's much appreciated.
