It was on a facebook group I saw it. Quite how they can have an "outstanding reputation" yet I don't know!

Wasn't Nottingham Coaches the name for the old Coach section of Nottingham City Transport that was based at the South Notts depot at Gotham? Probably quite a few years back now?

Easy, they made it up, like Arriva make up they run a punctual service ;)

If you go to the website designer's page he's keen to tell you he's a multi-discipline designer. It'd be more impressive if he could spell the phrase.

It *has* a designer, I'm sure that's one of the stock templates in Sefriff web plus, not even changed the colour scheme. That would also explain the news as it comes preloaded with pages of useless text written in a foreign language.

Why all the Arriva bashing ? They seem no worse than many others.

It's usually smooth running on most of the key routes whenever I'm around MK.

Quick update Paul Major is returning to Yourbus. He is the former National Express Manager of the year. The new Service Delivery Manager is coming from Trent Barton.:D

Paul Major was appointed a director of Yourbus from13.10.14, I presume that is what swung his return.

I've noticed that Yourbus still seem to be having on-going problems operating their NX commitments

Courtesy of Jake from NX Yahoo Group:

Go Northern have taken the 591/594 from Yourbus for the time being due to a high number of vehicles VOR at Yourbus whch resulted in Parks of Hamilton operating a number of weeks for them during the week and the loan of Elites KSK 953 & LSK 507.

The southbound 594 (2145 ex Edinburgh) and northbound 594 (2300 ex VCS) will be (ironically!) operated by ex Yourbus FJ60 KVM and KVP respectively - due to them both having crew seats.

Latest:

The 591 has passed to Bruce's and has a vehicle staying in London overnight.

Timings are unchanged with the southbound departing Edinburgh at 0945 and arriving in VCS at 1950 and the northbound departing VCS at 0900 and arriving into Edinburgh at 1835.

Any update on Nottingham Coaches and Bingham?

No but we have this:

PB1125487/6 - NOTTINGHAM COACHES LTD, PRIVATE ROAD 3, COLWICK INDUSTRIAL ESTATE, NOTTINGHAM, NG4 2JN
Registration Accepted
Starting Point: DENNIS AVENUE, BEESTON
Finish Point: LONG EATON
Via:
Service Number: 17
Service Type: Normal Stopping
Effective Date: 02-DEC-2014
Other Details: Monday to Friday Every 30 minutes

Looks like the old 17 is back. It is possibly an indication of when High Road is likely to be reopened too. I would guess it is the Chilwell / Attenborough Long Lane / Toton route of old.

Multiple operators have found that Toton isn't viable bus territory for whatever reason.

It would appear they still don't have a clue.

The driver on the footy coach last night mentioned about that service. Not something i am particularly aware of though.

It looks likely that High Road, Chilwell is about due for reopening in the next week or so. Middle Road probably won't be much longer, which means that buses could return to their normal routes. Oh well high rd back to the bus-jam of old. This got me thinking what are the likely impact on existing bus services once tram operations start, and are there any opportunities for new services?
My initial thoughts:
Toton Line:
36/y36 - the present frequencies are probability unsustainable, but I can't see either operator wanting to be first to reduce.
Skylink - can't see any real impact
Indigo - may not want to follow the tram route directly, Beeston shorts wouldn't make sense, may extend Briar Gate services to maximise longer journeys.
y5 already very lightly used Nottingham - Long Eaton - Long Eaton to Derby only?
18 and local-links can't see a big impact
Opportunities:
More diverse routes to Beeston to avoid overbusing Derby Rd. Possibly via Ilkeston Rd and Jubilee campus
Long Eaton - Toton P&R - stapleford likely viable peak time only
Derby - toton P&R direct - likewise. A non TB operator may fancy that one!

Clifton Line:
Can't see any major changes. NCT will probably tweak frequencies but I can't see core changes.
Opportunities:
Again, I can't see much. Maybe Airport - Kegworth - EMD - Clifton P&R, but I guess that would be marginal

Following the L10 route? City - Ilkeston Road - Jubilee - Wollaton - Down Bramcote Lane - A52 and into Beeston? Avoiding all the estate routes?

Not spotted this posted before, from the Derbyshire County Council website:

From Sunday 23 November 2014

Service Y1 (Yourbus): The Derby − Heanor − Alfreton service will be replaced by a half-hourly service between Derby, Heanor and Ripley in the daytime on Mondays to Saturdays. The Derby − Heanor − Eastwood journeys will be less frequent, but will have a simpler timetable and will all follow the same route in Eastwood. The Sunday Derby − Heanor buses will be extended to Eastwood.

Also, Trentbarton have announced a reduction to 15% in the discount given to adult Mango card holders from 2 November, partly replaced by £5 cashback if you hit the £30 weekly cap - so people who only travel occasionally will pay more.

Rumours I have picked up on are that the 48 to Clifton will drop to every 12 minutes once the tram starts; and that as stated, the Beeston shorts on Indigo will be gone too.

Y36 is allegedly getting some new Citaros early next year too...

Oh no, what a shame! They were such a great idea and always well loaded and clearly very sustainable.....

...said no one ever

That is interesting about the 48s though, I guess it will be interesting if the current repaint and refurb of its buses will include all of them then, maybe they'll just do enough for the future PVR?

Personally can't see too many 'new' routes appearing out of tram development - the only one that seems to work is at Hucknall.

Can certainly see the Beeston shorts on both Indigo AND the 36B going - unless the Y36 vanishes - simply there will be too much capacity with the tram.

I could see the 18 going. A Beeston Rylands circular into Beeston, at a enhanced frequency, to connect with the tram would seem more likely to me than the 18 being retained into Nottingham. I used it for a period a couple of years ago and it rarely seemed very busy.

I was discussing this with my sister just this evening! At its other end the 18 also serves as the only bus route connecting the residential area of New Stapleford into the town centre (although there are a couple of other routes on the periphery of the area). I'll admit I didn't think about Rylands at all, but towards my neck of the woods I could also see the 18 struggling to make ends meet.

I don't know how receptive TB would be to redirecting the 21 through the area (easiest) or the 15 (might add a bit of time on) - but I did consider some heavily modified revival of the old Premiere 17 killing a few birds with one stone: New Stapleford - Stapleford Town Centre - estates around Eaton Road - Interchange with tram - Toton local service - Chilwell Retail Park. Connects New Stapleford with the town centre, connects the transport-limited Stapleford estates with either the i4 or the tram, provides a service round Toton and connects with both the tram and Indigo.
