Got some free time tomorrow lunch before I have to head to the Houses of Parliament, just wondered if anyone knew a good spot to watch the Eurostars and Southern HS trains preferably somewhere close to getting some lunch.

Cheers

St Pancras has plenty of places in and around the station for eating, however it's not got a brilliant spot for seeing the 395's and Eurostars unless you're actually using the train and going through the barriers, enter the station from the Pancras Road side and up the escalator or lift for the SE Javelins. I'd recommend the Euston Road Entrance and up to the Grand Entrance for a look at the Eurostars albeit through glass. Enjoy

Stratford International is the only place in the zones where it's feasible to take photos of Eurostars without going on them! As said before, there's Westfield Stratford just next to it which has a lot of food outlets.

There are a few places out Dagenham-Rainham way that you can phot them too.

Last time I did Stratford the staff were helpful, told me I could get a platform ticket and said where the Eurostars go through etc.

Ask at the ticket office for a platform ticket

Whatever you do don't bother with going to St Pancras HS platforms, they are the most unfriendly miserable bunch I've seen on the railways.

Really? I've asked nicely and been let through there many times just to photograph the Eurostars opposite...
