Austin Mitchell MP (who is a keen amatuer photographer) has presented an early day motion in Parliament regarding photography in public places:

http://edmi.parliament.uk/EDMi/EDMDetails.aspx?EDMID=35375&SESSION=891

If people want to agitate in support of this, they can write to their MP via this link:

The early day motion has now been signed by 99 MPs - a few more people writing to their MPs can push it over the 100 mark. It's very easy, all you have to do is visit

I find you're more likely to get a positive response (and a nice looking letter) if you write to them or EMail them directly rather than through a third party website - though to many it depends on the MP and their staff to how they treat constituents.

I think that's a fair point.

Sadly, a lot of people neither have the time or the inclination - which is why I've made it easy. And it seems to have paid off. I've posted this on a number of different forums and quite a few people have written who have never done so before...

The EDM is still gathering momentum. 131 have signed it now and it's receiving cross-party support. Keep it up folks!
