Oh, I don't mind split tickets per se, but I am a terror if the train does not stop there...

I think I've met you. Aren't you the man who stands on the platform telling people that the restrictions printed on advance tickets are completely optional and it's fine to get any train? <D

Every time I've met a member, with the exception of one, it was unexpected! Not all in unusual places though! One was on the Stockport to Stalybridge parliamentary, one was the guard on my train, one I actually knew, but didn't know he was on here!

I remember that

Distinctly possible you have seen me. I'm the one pulling out the seat reservations and putting the fear of God into passengers with suitcases on seats and those with split tickets! <D

Having unexpectedly met Flamingo, I can verify that he is a terrifying individual, putting fear into the hearts of passengers everywhere

As this thread is still open...

It's actually quite disconcerting when you're standing at the far end of Epsom Station checking out the 377 in the siding with your son to find that the individual approaching with the notebook is someone you're already acquainted with.

Well done Peter Mugridge for working out I was me, I certainly hadn't clicked that you were you until then. Nice to meet in person and share a 455, however briefly! (Shame it wasn't a 456...)

I'm not sure if this qualifies as I did sort of expect to see this forum member due to it being their stomping ground but it wasn't guaranteed by prior arrangement. However, I bumped into trentside as they were joining a service to Newark Northgate that I was living to get a service to East Midlands Parkway. Nice to be able to say hello anyway

Ah... you found the thread first ( as I predicted! :) ).

What made me realise it was you was when you started mentioning 456s; I figured - correctly - that it unlikely there would be two people in Worcester Park who would be mentioning the 456s in the context of giving a bit of variety to our line. :)

I also surprised myself at remembering the name I was looking for - I'm not usually very good with names...

Whilst waiting for a friend this afternoon, I bumped into Oscar who was standing outside the Houses of Parliament.

Likewise, and it did take me totally by surprise - so unexpected for me. :)

After our recent monthly Yorkshire forum meal (this one was in Marsden), 10 of us did the canal trip, after that we were at the Standedge Tunnel visitor centre and randomly, to my complete surprise, metrocammel (James Palmer) appeared on his bike to drop off leaflets. Even more bizarrely no-one noticed, except me, though it did take me a while to realise it was him (and that was partly because I recognised his bike!)

I've got one also from the Yorkshire meal. On my way to the meal I saw 43094 on an VTEC HST heading home from Edinburgh. Wasn't getting the same train unfortunately but we had a quick chat through the drop light. Most unexpected!

Well, me and a few other members are approaching Thurso - I will be very surprised if we unexpectedly bump into any other members up here

I was in London last Saturday on a Marylebone-bound train. Passing Wembley heard 2 men talking about the class 68's there and then photographing the DVT at Marylebone on arrival.
Forum members I wonder?

Last week I saw three members unexpectedly.

On Tuesday I saw asylumxl by the buffers at Kings + whilst I was heading down to Leeds.

On Wednesday I was with bb21 and JaJaWa at Sheffield when TEW saw us crossing the footbridge and came over to us.

On Saturday I saw Death participating in the the LGBT Pride parade in London!

Anywhere prominent? I walked past pretty much the entire route of the parade on my way home around 2:30pm, sweltering hot in my shirt and tie!

We were stood outside Caffé Concerto in Regent Street by the bus stop I believe.

On the subject under discussion, I was spotted by sonic2009 at Liverpool Lime Street one day in early June.

While on a short layover at Preston on the Retro Cumbrian Coast Explorer, 323235 made a brief appearance having not realised we were due through whilst they were at the station

I reckon I've copped one or two while working trains, I tend to keep a low profile though unless I know you :)

Think I saw Sickynicky in Hereford today, hardly surprising as we both live here! I was sitting in the new precinct where all the eating places are, using the free wifi to download a phone update  , and he (or his double) walked past with a lady and a couple of young kids. I checked the time - 13.15. He was gone before I could wave or anything  .

Going to feel so stupid if it wasn't him at all  .

Ah. Sorry to be the one to question your sanity. At the time I was somewhere near Moreton-on-Lugg, and was certainly not accompanied by a lady and two young kids (unless I'm running two lives without knowing it) :) The only female accompanying me was a chocolate Labrador.

So, it seems I have a doppelganger. I shall have to be vigilant.

Oops  . Good thing I didn't chase after you then! I remembered from the Gerald trip you saying something about wanting to take your nephew and niece on it, so thought they must be staying with you, and the woman might have been their mum/your sister.

Ah well, I'm no good at this game  .

Don't worry. Easily done. Talking of Gerald of Wales, I shall be boarding in about 10 minutes for another lovely three course meal :)
