Would Virgin Drivers sign the relief lines as Willesden and would they plausibly ever be routed this way? I have this rather specific sounding question because of a Simsig game.

Also, where, if anywhere, would I go for finding the answer to this question in general (i.e. who has route knowledge for what)?

Other than asking VT drivers where they sign and where they're based, I'm not sure.

They have used it as part of the Chiltern Blockade busters including a double reversal on them I seem to recall.

Yes, some Virgin drivers do sign the relief lines at Willesden as the empty stocks to and from Wembley ICD are often diverted in and out of the north end when there are engineering works or disruption.

If they have come from Greenford and Acton, then they are using the South West Sidings, not the reliefs and rejoin the main lines at Willesden West London. Not sure where they would double reverse, or reverse at all.

I believe it was points renewal at Willesden West London Jn on the fast Lines.
I think Virgin ran slow lines to Wembley Central, reverse, thence via Willesden Relief Lines then reverse again around Mitre Bridge then via SW Sidings and as you suggest.
