Bachmann Thomas Range

hi, ive been meaning to ask for a while, can you get Bachmann Thomas and Friends range from model shops here in the UK or would you have to get it from online?

Quite probably online I'm afraid. Hornby has the UK licence but sadly doesn't seem all to bothered about expanding or innovating their range and produces their models in OO gauge, While Bachmann has the US and I think Worldwide licence and produce their models in HO. Not a lot of difference in size, and no doubt the Bachmann range is probably becoming more expansive.

On sale at some UK shops, e.g. Arcadia in Shaw, near Oldham -- but prices are horrendous compared with "non-Thomas" equivalents e.g. £45 for 4 wheel tank wagons, £50 for 4 wheel open wagon. (A non-Thomas equivalent would cost about £ 8 to 10); Thomas set (loco + 2 coaches) for £245.
