Caledonian Sleeper website *help*

Trying to view prices for the sleeper in the summer, leaving from Crewe to Dundee but it is only giving me the option to travel from Scotland and no option for trains leaving London !!

Am i being extremely ditzy here ? should i be using a different website?

Did use national rail and was re-directed to the Caledonian Sleeper website but can't find anyway to search for tickets leaving from London ??

Advice please !!

Make sure you open the drop down boxes and click From in the from box, and To in the to box, then it will let you choose all the stations. As I had previously searched for a journey from Inverness to Euston, it would then not show Crewe or Dundee in the From and To!

Ok i finally found that you have to click on the little uk map to bring up other option and manually type in destination etc..... Doh !

Now it is not giving me any searches for sleeper trains and i'm sat here thinking suerly it can't be this complicated.... i had no problems booking a sleeper from scotland !!


My website must be broken because the search looks nothing like yours in the pic ha !!

You were easily bought! I personally would not have alighted at Dundee for less than £100.

To be fair Dundee is not that bad, but being the junior of the four traditional Scottish cities it has always borne the brunt of our jokes. There is no finer approach to a city than across the Tay Bridge with the light glinting off the firth. I have taken some pictures where The Law looks surprisingly like the Hagia Sophia in Constantinople - a few minarets and the illusion would've been complete. If you get time take a walk up The Law it is well worth it!

They have no booking office(s), only a telesales centre. As the train is marked mandatory reservations only, other than for on the day (Conductor issued) berth supplements and onward travel tickets, dining/meal vouchers etc, I don't think they are obliged to accept them as they have no customer facing ticket centres.

You can get the same ticket via any other TOC though, who will accept RTVs for any journey.

I think they do provide, Fort William coming to mind, a "daytime" service for passengers who want to turn up and use the seated portion without reservations. For this I am sure the guards would (if reluctantly, as it is a hassle to account for them!) accept RTVs on board if you were making that journey, or for the reasons above...

If you want to actually book a ticket for travel on their trains in advance, just turn up to any ticket office and hopefully you will find a clerk who is both willing and able to sell you tickets for them!*

*I say this, as some journeys I still can't work my way round how to actually sell berths for some as they don't come up, just seats!

Is there a TOC that doesn't try and pretend that booking offices don't exist in their publicity?
