I think it's just a film set, not an actual train.

Notice how clean the toilet compartment is.

Whilst I agree that it probably is just a set, it does remind me quite a bit of the Siemens Thameslink Class 700 mockup that was on display at the ExCel exhibition centre last year although the toilet was in a different layout.

It would have to be very clean if you were expecting an actor to sprawl on it...

It does look quite realistic, particularly the inter-carriage doors.

Yes, I was thinking that too, but as you say is clearly different. The Class 700 mockup also had "Ironing Board" seats.

The colour scheme looks like the Thameslink & Great Northern one, so I was thinking that it was perhaps a refreshed Electrostar. However, I noticed that all 3 of the toilet door buttons are intact, so it can't be.

It is definitely a Desiro of some sort, the large spotlight in the gangway is a telltale Desiro sign (and I wonder why I am still single....), Judging by the fact that Irn Bru is Scottish I would guess t is a film set based on a Tip-Ex 350. The seats are the same as the 387s, so maybe it is the 700 demonstrator.

Almost certainly a mock up. Not seen any facilities with that layout either. It all looks so plasticky!

380 was my first thought too, because it does look like a desiro. But it's definitely not, the seats look markedly different, click here (not my photo, all credit to the photographer).

It's a very odd layout when you look at it, and not one I've seen before. There's only a handful of seats in the carriage between the toilet and the gangway, with no door in sight, and it looks like there's another gangway just behind the toilet (as you'd probably expect). So I think it's a mock-up based on a desire of some description.

Cracking advert, mind

I think it's just a film set as I can't think of many modern units (I'm thinking post-BR) which have windows in the toilet.

There definitely isn't a train with an interior that looks like that. Looks like a Highways Agency 'SOS Phone' sticker too, not a passcom one!

Could it be the Class 380 Mock Up that's in the Transport Museum in Glasgow?

Trying to remember if that had a toilet and if so what it looks like?

It's not the 380 mock-up.

They've either used the 700 demonstrator or- as I expect is more likely- mocked up a film set.

Must be a mock up as right at the start of the clip you can see inter carriage doors just behind the people sitting down - no train ever has an accessible toilet halfway down a carriage surely, or a 5 metre long carriage!

Could be using spares/parts from a mock up like the 700 one though, definitely looks familiar...

And yes, the windows in the toilet...

Many European ones do - the bog is usually in the low floor section which tends to be between the bogies. And the D78 will be as well.

or a 5 metre long carriage!

Though not that :)

The Irn Bru adverts always make me laugh. Some of them have been absolute corkers.

Remember Raul???
