Abellio inter TOC staff benefits

Afternoon chaps. I'm sorry if this question has been asked here before but does anyone know if I can now get free travel on Scot Rail with my Northern Rail pass now that the franchise has changed?

Would they? Staff at Virgin East Coast haven't seen any change to their travel benefits yet.

And when I worked for DBS and they took over Arriva, no DBS staff got any discounted or free travel on Arriva services

East Coast might be interesting one as part Stagecoach part Virgin ............ (and they have long standing arrangements with others e.g. GN)

you do know that Virgin west coast is owned by stagecoach and virgin as well so presumably the east coast staff will probably get similar travel arrangements .

you do know that Virgin west coast is owned by stagecoach and virgin as well so presumably the east coast staff will probably get similar travel arrangements .

The percentage split of Virgin and Stagecoach is very different in the two franchises though.

Thats true , if anything then the east coast staff might see some stagecoach travel benefits owing to the higher ownership stagecoach has .

But west coast staff only get free travel on VT .

The MD has suggested there may be something in the franchise (CS) that might not allow it, but as another poster noted, it is being looked at.

That would be illegal unless it can be objectively justified.

Look up the Fixed Term Workers (Prevention of Less Favourable Treatment) Regulations.

Travelled from Carlisle to Kirconnel in the last couple of days and was told by conductor ' Yes your Northern Pass is ok, a circular has been sent round', is this correct does anyone know ?

Yes, there are reciprocal agreements amongst ScotRail and Northern, Merseyrail, & Greater Anglia.

A brief was sent out earlier this week, definitely valid on Scotrail services.

Stagecoach own SWT 100% and emt 100% and there is full reciprocal travel between the two which is good. However, stagecoach also own 49% of vtwc and 90% of vtec, yet SWT get nothing in terms of free travel, ony the atoc priv that all get.

Lucky them! VTEC get no free travel on VTWC, EMT or SWT.

EMT are likely to get VTEC free facilities as part of ongoing pay talks.
