Will this service run...?

We've all been there, surfing RTT looking at trains and all of a sudden, one catches your eye.

But we don't know if it'll run, so I propose this thread be used for finding out!

Hope this thread takes off!

12:43 from Longport to Crewe via Stoke. Anyone got any ideas if this will run?

Well its timetabled to run from

16/02/2015 to 15/05/2015

so it may a bit unpredictable as to when it runs. I would assume its a transfer move for 66s coming off maintenance at Longport for Freightliner.

With some trains on realtimetrains you only know if it will run after its departure time from the origin place. If it is on the system it will run, if it isn't then you can usually, I think, presume it isn't. With many trains that's the only surefire method you have to know if a working is happening. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong!

Correct - that especially applies to WTT freight services,
but even STP workings are by no means certain to run;
some are just speculative paths which end up not being
needed on the day.

However, many non-passenger services are reliable, regular runners,
which I presume are the trains this topic is intended for?
