0550 Sheffield-Leeds stopped at Barnsley, very very annoyed as the train was late getting out of Sheffield but wasn't told it was for an issue further down the line, could have gone via Dearne Valley to Leeds. Disruption only appeared on National Rail site around 0620.

Friend now having to get bus to Wakefield to pick up a train to Leeds, can't sit around hoping for line to reopen all morning as has to get to work.

First train of the day is always the most likely to be hit by problems - at least the cable theft stoppages seem to have reduced these days, there was a point when the trains were being affected almost weekly due that.

Still problems. He's almost at Wakefield on the bus now, an utter ballache. Don't think anything has left Barnsley northbound this morning yet?

Bit annoying if they knew that at 0550 given the reason it left a few mins late was for "signalling problems", I just assumed it meant problems at Sheffield. Passengers for Leeds and Wakefield could have been told to go via Dearne Valley instead of shipping everyone up to Barnsley and kicking them off.

Complaint will be going in.

He made it to Leeds on the delayed 0754 out of Wakefield W, so arrived in Leeds at around 0817, should have been there at 0649. Add to that the bus fare between Barnsley and the first stop in West Yorkshire (he has a Metro bus card) and all in all a very annoying morning.

Just turned up to find all trains cancelled still. Must be a fairly hefty problem!

It wasn't cable theft probably some relays or something. It was back near enough to normal about 12/13:00
