Basically it will be supervising the CIS system, inputting changes into it as needed and making manual announcements. Liaising with control staff in times of disruption so that any service alterations are communicated to staff and passengers at the station, including helping with arrangements for alternative transport. You'll be coordinating assisted travel too for your station, so phoning other stations and taking phone-calls so that passengers requiring assistance are met by staff. And you'll be the go to point for information on the station, staff will ask you all numbers of questions, typically about how to get to a particular station, and you'll have to look up the answers normally on your computer. From colleagues in the role I know it can be pretty dull at times when everything is going well, but incredibly stressful in time of disruption. As you can probably see communication is one of the biggest parts of the role.
