G'day everyone,

On Saturday 18.4.15 two class 47's with a GBRF class 66 sandwiched in the middle were seen by myself heading north just south of York on the ECML. One of the class 47's appeared to be in the 'large logo' livery. Can anyone shed any light on what such a strange formation was doing on the EMCL on a Saturday afternoon?

Many thanks,

Richmond Commuter.

47's apparently for Royal Scotsman services ( although i have heard 55022 will be used) and for the GB tour thingy that usually is powered by steam

Many thanks for this. Just out of interest who owns the class 47's? A real blast from the past!

The 66 was for the Royal Scotsmen and the 47s for sleeper ecs duties.
