Due to a trespass incident at Edge Hill, no trains can run to Lime Street.

Do you think that the VT/LM services will terminate at Liverpool South Parkway and then passengers sent over to Merseyrail?

VT won't terminate at South Parkway due to platform lengths. LM will run through hopefully.

For the record, South Parkway can't even take a double 185 entirely, let alone a Virgin service

1F43 (1236 BHM-LIV) was held at Runcorn for 16 mins then terminated at LPY.
2N95 (1316 MCO-LIV) was held at LPY for 11 mins then ran to West Allerton apparently (http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/Y54513/2015/04/22/advanced)
1R74 (0857 NRW-LIV) terminated at Hunts Cross p2 then appears to have ran back to Manchester Oxford Road to form 1L13.

All of the other LMs were caped at Crewe or cancelled throughout, likewise the caped EMT and TPE CLC runs terminated in Manchester Piccadilly or Warrington Central.

Also, some Northern services terminated or had a long layover at Huyton - http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/search/advanced/HUY/2015/04/22/1400?stp=WVS&show=all&order=wtt

Just out of interest, why did they build SParkway with plaforms so short they couldn't even take 6 coaches?

Woolton Road runs under South Parkway

One other problem I suspect is the additional width they would require given the proximity of the private houses on the Edge Hill side of Woolton Road with the added difficulty that potentially you might have to completely rebuild what is effectively two bridges if all four platforms were to be extended.

The link below to Google maps shows the issues from the road.
