Hi all,

I was at Stafford on Tuesday and noticed 92028 and 92014 from the GBRf/Serco Caledonian Sleeper fleet parked up.

It was a pleasant surprise as it's the first time I had seen one of the new sleeper locos and didn't expect to see it there.

Just out of interest does anyone know why they were there?

I have a few photos of them but not sure how best to post them here.

Many thanks.

92 028 was hauling the train mentioned in this post:

Apparently, 92028 (my first 92 for haulage) was almost declared a failure at Glasgow and left 20 minutes late. I was travelling in the seated carriage of the Edinburgh portion but I ran out of phone battery at Edinburgh so didn't really know what was going on.

I first awoke for a short while at Stafford where we had stopped in the through line and thought that was unusual.

I wonder if it was detached at Stafford....

No idea why '14 was there.

That's probably like asking how long a piece of string is...

Without knowing specifically what they were failed with, I doubt anyone could say

I guess it depends on many factors including how fast they get fixed and whether extensive testing is needed first
