Has anyone any recomendations for a pub/pubs on the coast route please, if in the plural within walking distance please. Planning to do the 37's and my move allows a sustantial pub break for tea then over an hour in Barrow later on. I have been in the "Ratty arms" which was ok but other recomendations would be appreciated. Thanks.

I think I knew this pub when it was called The Shipwright Arms. It used to be OK, but I haven't been there in over 40 years!
Drigg, Nethertown, Braystones, and Corkickle have no pubs anywhere close to the station. St Bees has a restaurant/pub behind the up platform. The only Ravenglass pub I know of is on the shorefront, and WAS called the Pennington Arms. The nearest boozer to Seascale is the Wansfell, on the road towards Drigg. The beer is crap, and always has been!

As far as Barrow is concerned, the Wetherspoons, "The Furness Railway", will be your best bet, and it's only a two minute walk from the station on the main street, Abbey Road.

Seconded that the Prince of Wales at Foxfield is a very decent establishment.

There's one on the northbound NR platform, I think it's the one mentioned in the OP. Incidentally that's also the only one I've used on the Cumbrian Coast. Not amazing, but far from the worst I've been in.

Yes, it's not bad. Quite quiet, but I only went in there during the day.

Discovered quite by accident a decent little bar on the Lancaster bound platform at Millom. Worth a stop off.

I ate in the Ratty Arms, Ravenglass this evening. Excellent food and quick, friendly service. A bonus was seeing the loco hauled set stop outside the window at 1930! Booking advisable in the evening.

Not quite on the Cumbrian Coast line, but The Albion at Arnside does great food and has lovely views of the viaduct out across the estuary. It's a 5 min walk from the station along the promenade.
