Can someone let me know if the Middleton Press Rail Guide lists titled trains?

The Railway Magazine promised to list them on their website when they originally printed 'The Encyclopaedia of Titled Trains' back in 2012 but it has not appeared so far. I was in correspondence with them recently and it is something they are still intending to do, and hopefully in the near future, but until then, I am finding it very difficult to get a list of CURRENT titled trains not necessarily historical ones.

Titled as in the locomotive, or the service?

If service, you can start with FGW's website.

No not the locomotive, the service such as The Highland Chieftain, or The West Riding Ltd.

p.s. just checked out your link, thanks a great list for the Great Western, that is just what I was meaning but for all TOC's.

As far as I know pretty much all of the named trains on the network are listed on the Wikipedia page. If you search on the page for the word present you will get them.

But essentially only FGW, VTEC and EMT still have named trains, which are listed in their timetables.
(ATW's Gerald and the the Caledonian Sleeper seem to be the only other ones, other than the East Anglian, which I am not sure is in use.)

Well it will not take you very long - the only other TOCs that run named trains are VTEC and EMT. Just check their timetables.

Thanks for the advice and help.

I would still like to know if the Middleton Press 'Rail Times' mentions which trains are titled trains.

What about FGW?? The Bristolian still runs. One not mentioned on that list is 1E15, I believe titled the Northern Lights.

I said the only other ones - someone had already mentioned FGW and the post to which I replied (and quoted) mentions FGW.

OP as I said - FGW, EMT, and VTEC pdf timetables list all the named trains individually by footnote to the timetables and can be easily accessed from their websites.

FGW - https://www.firstgreatwestern.co.uk/train-times-and-tickets/train-times/from-17-may-2015
EMT - http://www.eastmidlandstrains.co.uk/Global/Documents/TT1 SX_SO May 15Web v3.pdf
VTEC - https://www.virgintrainseastcoast.c...f/timetables/virgin_trains_east_coast_web.pdf

The eNRT (electronic National Rail Timetable) on the Network Rail website will also list them as a footnote where appropriate in each relevant timetable. The current version is at the following link, as will be the new summer version very shortly: http://www.networkrail.co.uk/aspx/3828.aspx

The Middleton Press publication is purely a written version of that.

It will take you no more than 30 minutes to do the job yourself rather than relying on someone else to do it for you.

Thanks very much for your help that is a very definitive response.
There was no need however for your last comment. All I was trying to find out was if there was a complete list available in one place to avoid having to go through all the various timetables, not an unreasonable request I don't think.

Apologies - I probably didn't come across that well.

The point that I was trying to make is that with so few operators it is really easy for you to do.

Incidentally the three FGW timetables that you need are:
