Anyone know why a Pendolino went through Tamworth on the Up Slow about 2210 yesterday night, hauled by a DRS 57? I had just arrived from Crewe, where a 57 was just being started up in one of the bays, but there was no obvious dead Pendo sitting around and it would be quick work to have found one, coupled it up and got it to Tamworth so soon behind my train.

I don't know the reason, but it doesn't seem to have been to rescue a failed set as it appears that the move was in the STP.
