I do agree with yorkie, though would make you aware of a slight grey area.

Sadly the Dayrover terms & conditions do not explicitly say when the ticket ends, but they do say:

dayrover conditions said:
Tickets may only be used on the day or days shown or validated for use on the ticket.

In reality both barrier lines will be open and there won't be a grip on the train, and even if there were, all staff will be busy dealing with the inebriated.

What is the worse thing that could happen if we get on the train and they don't accept it ?

Cheers

In principle you could be asked to buy new tickets. But you won't. The railway staff, if they even interact with you at all, will be happy that you have any ticket.

Then you'd be asked to pay for a Wakefield to Leeds single, which you may or may not choose to dispute.

The chances of a ticket check are minuscule, and the chances of a Guard claiming tickets expire at midnight are also minuscule.

Deffo not a trouble causer !

Quite shy really
I find the shy ones to be the worst after a few jars. <D

But yes, there will be absolutely no issue using that ticket. At that time of night, even with the microscopic chance of somebody disputing it, staff won't be wanting the risk of creating confrontation; Saturday nights can be buggers for everyone involved!

Why would anyone go to the hassle of purchasing unnecessary single tickets in case of the incredibly unlikely event that a Guard chooses to ask them to purchase an unnecessary single tickets?

So they can blame the 'nasty' railway even though the railway had nothing to do with it!

The railway 'day' ends at 04:29.

I would absolutely use the ticket myself at that time. Just thought I'd flag up the conditions.
