Hopefully all the info is in the title.

I have tried searches and seem to come up with one near Peterborough and one at Plumpton Green but articles seem to say that Network Rail were in the process of closing them...

Thankyou in advance.

I presume you mean those crossings that swing across the track as well as the road.

Between Ashford and Canterbury West there are two at..
Wye Station and Chartham Station

What do you define as "gated"

Like in olden days when a gate was swung closed across the road, often by a crossing keeper manually pushing them, as opposed to automated barriers which come down with flashing lights et al..

That's a list of surviving gated crossings which are worked by wheel or motor. Pantyffynnon (Heart of Wales Line) has a crossing keeper to manually open and close the gates.

Stone Crossing near Dartford had, until recently, a gated vehicle crossing operated by a crossing keeper. That has now closed, but the pedestrian gates are still controlled by the keeper.

Was there just two weeks ago. I think the pedestrian gate on the far side from the keeper's cabin is electro-magnetically locked by the keeper when trains are approaching. There must also be some method for alerting the keeper to pedestrians on the far side as when I approached she turned round from her panel and through the open window shouted across to inform me just one train was passing through. I didn't see any CCTV monitoring the far gate.

This crossing however isn't manned 24/7. There is quite a lengthy, poorly lit detour to cross the lines when the pedestrian crossing is closed. Network Rail have, on occasions, employed a security guard to counter trespass. They also promised the local Parish Council a footbridge in 2009. But now say policy is to only build ramped footbridges, and there isn't the space at Stone Crossing for one.

As does Oddingley, on the Bristol-Birmingham route between Stoke Works and Abbots Wood.

Norwood Crossing between Langwith Whaley-Thorns and Creswell is also manned - not exactly very busy so must be a very quiet life for the crossing keeper!

Last time I looked the Woodcroft Road crossing north of Peterborough was still worked by a keeper and that one is very wide crossing five tracks including three of the ECML. I'm surprised there's time to shut them both before the next train.

Yes Woodcroft Road, also Uffington Road on the Peterborough to Stamford line a bit further out from Peterborough. That one is worked by the Signaller who if I remember comes down the steps from his signal box to swing the gates.

Station Road, Whittlesea/Whittlesey is another.

All crossings, including foot crossings, on the East Coast Main Line south of Doncaster are planned to be shut within the next five years or so (Woodcroft Road in the ones mentioned above).

Elsenham in Essex, on the West Anglia Main Line. 80mph (I think?) line with off peak 4 passenger trains per hour each way, of which only one stops, plus some freight.

Is Cuxton station LC still gated? Google street view shows it as such, but the view in now seven years old. Littlehaven as shown in the link above is now lifting barrier.

At Croxton near Humberside Airport is a level crossing with old style wooden gates. Network Rail's RUS route 11 refered to the line officially as the South Humberside Mainline. So that's a gated mainline crossing.

There is one on the Heathfield Branch off Newton Abbot, which is operational, but of course certainly not a 'mainline'.

Great responses people. TSR - That day in the life of was a pleasant read. I'm pleased that you mention the Woodcroft one being open still, which as it's within about 40 miles of me and has a healthy dose of trainage passing through.
The only gated crossing I could remember was at Minehead when we went to Butlins a few years back which was on a preserved line I recall.

There's one near Tutbury on the Derby-Crewe line.
Scropton (which is a block post) and Hilton (with a crossing keeper, supervised by Egginton Jn).

As well as Uffington, mentioned earlier, there's also hand-worked gates at Wyfordby and Wymondham on the same line, just east of Melton and with the crossing keepers supervised by Whissendine SB.

There are many gated crossings on preserved lines and one of the most could be Kent & East Sussex Railway which has hand operated gates at each of its stations- Tenterden Town, Rolvenden, Wittersham Road, Northiam and Bodiam. When the line is extended to Robertsbridge there could be several more.
The Mid Norfolk Railway has them at most of its stations as well. The East Kent Railway has them at both of its stations-Shepherds well and Eythorne.

There were quite a few on the ECML north of Doncaster until the last few weeks, and I understand that at least a couple still remain for now - also, incidentally, disproving the claim in the article linked to that Woodcroft is the only such crossing on a 125mph line!

The only crossing with traditional gates on the West Somerset Railway is, I believe, at Blue Anchor. That one is wheel operated from the adjacent signal box rather than with a crossing keeper pushing the gates.
