You would have to start before 1993 to be classed as safe guarded employee to keep you passes.

I'm lucky as I'm safe guarded, but we have fought over this for the new guys. It's not the company but ATOC.

Because we can't supply a service for employees from aTOC's, ATOC will not allow Freight employees to travel on PAX trains. Load of Bollo*ks really.

For us BR drivers ,we have to pay 22% tax on £625 approx. (classed as a benefit in kind) . The £625 approx, is what my company Freightliner have to pay to ATOC.

If you work for a TOC you don't pay anything !!!

Thinking what the freight does to the economy, moving round freight and track works etc, it's a bit of a insult to say the least.
