Note to Mods - sorry if this isn't in the right place, but couldn't think where to put it.

There's appears to have been some sort of machine moving about at stoke-on-trent station, It went into the station southbound, reversed while the CrossCountry 1H99 went north and then just went North again. Can anyone tell me what this is? I looked on RTT but an advance search showed nothing...

It seems to be shuffling about a fair bit.

sounds very much like a piece of on track machinery (tamper/regulator etc)

Cheers, I think I shall have to keep an eye out in future.

Sorry for double post but just saw it again, it was a long yellow vehicle followed by a short trailer with what looked like a digger on the back.

Location
Grimsby
Thanks for the info, Any reason it doesn't show on RTT?

Because its in an engineering possession?

For example,
An engineers I went out for on Sunday morning ran to Barnetby on Saturday night - http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/B18941/2015/05/16/advanced
But then started from Great Coates on Sunday - http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/B18944/2015/05/17/advanced
Even then the work didn't cover Great Coates, engineering work is believed to have taken place between Barnetby and Immingham, and the engineers ran round the Grimsby & Immingham light railway (not on an RTT schedule) to Great Coates.

You will only see them to the nearest timing point to the possession, we cannot time to the actual location normally as they can be nowhere near anything useful to us.
