Can anybody point me to an official list of expected closure dates for various signal boxes? I thought I'd seen something on the net, but I can't find it now.

Thanks.

That list is completely out of date. Many resignalling schemes are running seriously late for a number of reasons including a nationwide shortage of signal testers and seriously increased costs.

As per the post above, due to major changes/slippages,
all the lists published on various websites and magazines
in the past year or so, official or otherwise, are now woefully
inaccurate/misleading.

As I am responsible for updating the Railcam signalling diagrams,
I'd love an updated/accurate list of resignalling dates myself! :)

I know that Derby PSB is currently being decommissioned
(the Burton/Wichnor area panel moved to the EMCC earlier this month),
and the two boxes at Stafford will be abolished sometime between
September and Christmas, but beyond that, I'm not certain.

Are you interested in a particular box/route??

According to the Section C page on thesignalbox website, Bognor is due to go in 2018 and Lancing, Arundel, Littlehampton in 2016. Lewes is supposedly being done at the same time as Newhaven.

Of course, this plan seems to get pushed back several times a year. Pevensey - Bexhill was supposed to have been done in 2013! Around those parts, I still need to photograph Arundel, Polegate (I think it's preserved) and Plumpton crossing box.

2016.05 (Victoria II) Streatham workstation (WestCad conventional, No ARS)

2016.08 (London Bridge 'Inner') Cannon Street workstation (TMS/WestCad Interfaced)

2018.02 (London Bridge 'Outer') Lewisham workstation (TMS/WestCad Interfaced)

2018.05 (London Bridge 'Outer') Grove Park workstation (TMS/WestCad Interfaced)

York ROC / LNE Route

2015.12 North Lincs workstation (Ph.1) (WestCad conventional with ARS+)

2016.?? Sheffield & Rotherham workstations (WestCad conventional with ARS+)

2017.08 Trans-Pennine (Ph.1) workstation (TMS Interfaced/Integrated)
(Re-control of Huddersfield SB, Healey Mills SB, Hebden Bridge SB & Milner Royd SB)

2017.12 York IECC & Harrogate IECC workstations (TMS Interfaced/Integrated)
(Re-control of all York & Harrogate IECC workstations)

Has not moved just yet, it is still gradually being commissioned - this weekend involved some overnight commissioning. Final commissioning is due sometime over the next few months I think, although it may have slipped.

2017 for Transpennine!? Not likely, especially seen as TM has largely been scaled back or cancelled.

Likely...

As someone whose been involved with NR and the TM suppliers for the past three years, and is heavily involved in the 'de-scoped' Subsequent Deployment, I can confirm those schemes & dates are correct as of now.

All the Sussex & LNE schemes cited are the 'optional' components of the de-scoped deployment (Thameslink Core being the primary/mandatory element), and I can confirm that all three TM suppliers are bidding for these optional components. Award is in July. Underway by August.

Sorry. Yes, just the Burton part of the west panel area (certainly
the Clay Mills Goods lines, as the old Derby PSB train describers
on the Goods Lines changed to displaying a '1969-2015' farewell
message similar to what happened when Wolverhampton PSB
was decommissioned a few days earlier).

Yes - Beeston Castle & Chester, plus any near Llandudno.
I think the North Wales Coast has slipped to November 2017 now
(was to have been this year!). Beeston Castle and Crewe steelworks
were also supposed to be this year, but I think they have also been
put back in order to prioritise Gresty Lane, because of the condition
of the latter.

All very fluid, I'm afraid! :?

Thanks.

Apart from those already going through the final stages, I think you will find that most of the rest are now many years away, if not tens of years away, and those that do come on stream will be conventional signalling and no TM, even ETRMS is in doubt (at least on multiple lines)

Not sure about Polegate Crossing now because I have heard NR doesn't want it preserved on its present site, due to it leaning over (the fact that they were quite happy to have their own staff work in it all these years...)

And yes, I forgot about Plumpton...

I was speaking to some senior staff at Network Rail and was given to understand that Beeston Castle and area, plus North Wales is now scheduled to close in 2024.

Really? Beeston Castle is linked in with Crewe works so Im doubtful they have pushed that to the end of CP6 as it was due in the next year or so.

Be nice to see the back of the long block from Crewe Steel Works to Beeston Castle.
It can be very awkward at times, usually leaving Crewe on a late VT, the ATW having been let go just in front of it...

I was In a staff reps meeting at TBROC yesterday (21/05/15) and those above planned dates were confirmed by one of the managers attending.

Thanks for confirming from ROC / route level.
Depending upon which supplier is selected I hope to have significant involvement in Thameslink TM deployment.

Did you happen to get a date for Victoria II, Stage 2: Sutton-Wimbledon-Mitcham? Dec 2016/Easter 2017 possibly? Thx.

Nothing was said about it at this time but there were broad discussions on the floor plan beyond the Thameslink POD. Would just like add that I wasn't there to discuss ROC issues but that's we we hold our meetings and took an opportunity to talk to those in the know who also attend our meetings.

To be honest I wouldn't rely on any list out there, the box closures are totally fluid. On the section C website it shows Manchester North SCC close in 2019......it closed this easter. So boxes are either constantly being moved forward or backwards.

That list is now defunct, and (at least Anglia) all the dates have been pushed back by 5 years minimum, and even then subject to re-evaluation

Back in February this year I photographed Berwick, Bexhill, Polegate, Pevensey & Westham, Eastbourne and Hampden Park but was on a daytrip (from Bristol - was I mad? LOL) and so found no time to do Bo-Peep Junction and Plumpton GB but I still intend on doing those two, along with Lewes and Hastings.

I believe Plumpton GB is down for later this year. Is this still the case? And what about the boxes at Bognor, BPJ, Lewes & Hastings?

What floor plans were they discussing mate? Out of curiosity!

I think you'll be ok for this year and BPJ and Hastings will be around for some time to come. I wonder if these boxes (along with Robertsbridge) will eventually move control to Ashford IECC (or will Ashford migrate to EK at Gillingham)?
