In Aug 2016 platforms 1-3 close and trains to Cannon Street cannot stop at London Bridge.

Southeastern have released their draft timetable which can be seen here http://www.southeasternrailway.co.uk/your-journey/timetables/august-2016/

It looks like some Greenwich line trains are diverted via Lewisham so other Dartford lines have less stopping there.

Some trains on the Greenwich line also start further back at Medway towns, at the expense of Sidcup line, apparently to provide more links to crossrail at Abbey Wood. The timetable ends before Crossrail is supposed to open however?

The Greenwich line trains east of Charlton to Charing Cross calling at all stations will be a big relief for those who live down there.

I wouldn't be surprised post 2018 if we see at least 2 of the 6tph diverting via Lewisham on the stoppers leaving Deptford to Westcombe Park with 4tph to Cannon Street.

Also mentioned is the return to the 2tph Tunbridge Wells services to Charing Cross and the late evening/Sunday service from Hayes to CHX.

Ideally the Deptford-Westcombe Park stretch could get the semi-fast Medway 2tph plus the 4tph stoppers. The other 2tph stoppers could then go via Lewisham.

Perhaps the intended meaning is that those changes, although needed now, will be permanent in anticipation of Crossrail.

I think it's safe to say that Abbey Wood on the SE side will have an increase of at least 10tph off-peak to meet Crossrail demand.

Given that it already has 8tph then 18tph off-peak through Woolwich will be a sight to behold!

When I had a look at the fasts east of Charlton on the new draft timetable still skip stops - Woolwich Dockyard for one as it can't take 12 cars and also Plumstead.

As for the bit about post 2018 - 4tph wont be enough for Westcombe Park to Deptford - that is 6tph off-peak at the moment and it's not really feasible to reduce with population growth on that stretch. It has big projected population and housing growth. Well it already has it but will ramp up even more. Convoys Wharf alone will be 10k+ people, and Deptford is the only station within walking distance.

I thought Cannon Street couldn't take any more trains after 2018 so no more can run on the line? No more can divert to Lew/Charing Cross either as no paths to take over on other lines.

It was the lack of any additional trains on the various lines after 2018, and the lack of any Thameslink trains to Dartford as originally planned, that caused frustration in the area about London bridge rebuilding - years of upheaval with relatively little benefit at the end compared to other areas.

Though the Woolwich line gets Crossrail, the other Dartford line passengers get little except more trains to change onto at London Bridge. Which is good, but not what some were expecting...

I wouldn't like to be the person monitoring the provided e-mail address - I can't imagine they will get many useful contributions if any at all. Is this just a PR exercise?

The summary linked in the first post has since been amended to remove "for Crossrail" after Abbey Wood; so for anyone coming late to the thread some of the above discussion is no longer relevant... :D

Strange that. It did look like it was an interim move for Crossrail, but maybe they don't want to confuse people as it occurs before it opens.

Anyone got any ideas of what final 2018 SE service patterns to Abbey Wood would be? To get as many from Kent/Medway to the line I'm guessing 12 car trains from the new 3rd Platform being constructed at Rainham? Maybe some trains extended to Thanet?

No one has any idea, as this will be in the new franchise and thus subject to that franchise competition in 2017.

Any educated guess of what you think is likely? ;)

Trains from Rainham seem likely I'd have thought - the new platform is for extended Gillingham trains I believe? By then there will be the new Rochester station and Strood platforms so 12 car services to connect would be the aim I'd guess, though SE will need more stock for that. Any more news on them possibly having to give up 20x 375s around the time they get 25x 377/1s?

Then again maybe there wont be so many longer distance trains and more loop services to connect Sidcup & Bexleyheath line passengers to Abbey Wood Crossrail. Buses aren't good at all for many places. more loop could be likely particularly if TfL take over.

This sort of thing will probably appear in the Kent Route Study, but it isn't due for draft publication yet. Probably Spring 2016 or so.

The 2tph to Tunbridge Wells never disappeared, they've just been going to Cannon St instead.
