Hi All,

Long time no post as I've been busy with other stuff.

I am looking at booking on the 1849 off Edinburgh on a Friday evening. What sort of food would I expect in first class? The timetable simply says hot snacks but what does this entail?

The west coast offering varies regularly.

I've been working in Preston for the last couple of months (live in Edinburgh) and have used that service a few times.

Pizza, a pasty, fish & chips, chicken in some kind of sauce are all things I've had in the last couple of months.

I recommend the pizza, it's quite nice.

Bit radical but you could try looking at the website for the TOC you're using or tweet them etc. That's what I usually do

The Virgin website doesn't contain much detail beyond what the service type is.

Meant to add there is usually sandwiches available as well. I've occasionally been offered a bagel or a salad box as well.

The salad box is quite filling with the usual salad, dressing and cold meat.
