Hi guys.

I have been invited to attend Watford OPC to complete my final assessments and possibly MMI interview. Has anyone on here been there recently? Any heads up on what to expect would be great. :)

Cheers

its stage 2: might vary slightly from TOC to TOC but atleast GTR was the computer tests (grey square flashing for 30 mins, picture flashing for 1 sec looking out for certain stuff, and 2 hand coordination).

Then its the MMI, if you pass the computer tests.

I was at Watford about three weeks go, but as scraper said it all depends on what your TOC tests are. I recommend getting a hotel for the night before, the travelodge is a minute walk away from the OPC.

Thanks fro the reply scaper28.

I have my assessment tomorrow. I have been researching on here for the last few weeks and there seems to be quite a few variations of the MMI interview. I have all my examples ready just hope they are along the same lines as the questions.

Is the two handed exercise difficult? From my notes I gather its moving a cursor around certain shapes using a lever in each hand?

The TOC have booked me into the holiday which is close by. My assessment starts at 9am so the hotel was a must really.

Personally i didn't find it that hard, you only trace one diagram which is almost like CVT about 8 times. Just remember it not like the xbox or playstation, if you let go of the controls the ball returns to the centre of the screen.

ah ok so shouldn't be to difficult then. Did you have your MMI the same day? If so how did you do?

2 handed test i found the most difficult out of the 3, it seemed to jump a lot just get it back in as fast as you can. yeah the MMI was the same day after lunch if you passed the other tests.

I passed them just waiting for the final interview date, my advice would just be to try to relate things to skills required of a train driver and when asked repetitive questions just try to stick to the same sorta answer.

What TOC are you going for?

London Midland.

I have already had the driver manager interview around 12 months ago. thought that was strange as i assumed this was usually taken last? Did you do a SJE test on the day?

yeah i think it normally is taken last, and yeah there was a SJE takes around 25 mins give or take. its not marked so you cant fail per say though it does help the questioning during the MMI

The computer tests are straight forward normally everyone has one they find easier as expected personally I am with others who found the traffic perception the toughest

The MMI is a grilling but once your into it you mught just enjoy it. I had a laugh or two with the assessor and I thought they were very professional.. They are there to help you and do want you to pass they guide the question so you know if you are not quite hitting the mark and they give you a fair chance
