Hi.

Before the Joint Line was upgraded, we had 6E88 (Middleton Towns to Goole Glassworks) 3 times a week.

Since the upgrade, we now have...

Doncaster - Felixstowe containers on most week nights
Felixstowe - Selby most week mornings
Biggleswade - Heck Plasmor 3 times a week
Selby - Felixstowe containers most weekdays
Felixstowe - Doncaster containers most weekdays

and save for a few diversions, thats about it!

When are we gonna get some more? Freightliner are running a route learner up and down between Peterborough and Sleaford (why???) Anyone got any other info on more freight?

That's something like a ten-fold increase in freight traffic - what were you expecting??!

AFAIK, it was never the intention to reroute all ECML freight traffic
via Spalding - just enough to take the pressure off pathing new services.

For most of this summer, overnight IEP testing on Stoke Bank means
that all overnight freight traffic will run via Spalding five weeks out of
every six - that's a bit more than "a few diversions"!;)

Hi.

What was I expecting???? Errr...

Well fortunately, Im not one of the Spalding residents who believes everything he reads in the local rag. Meaning print that tells the gullible yellowbellys that there will be paths for 4 freight trains an hour! Paths yes, not nessacerily that they will run!

I did expect that all sand trains, including the Monk Bretton, would run on the Joint. Also, all of the Plasmor trains.

There are rumours floating around about Freightliner workings coming down here. I dont know which. I suspect the Leeds FLT workings.

Yes, several night freights have been diverted too. Notably as mentioned, when the new Hitachis were being tested between Tallington and Grantham.

Just to open it up, what about plans for extra passenger trains too?
