Because a route has to be driven over once every 6 months. In some depots it would be inefficient to roster that.

They almost all do. It's only the odd bit of diversionary work they don't sign and the non core routes like 7oaks etc.

Little crazy how a Brighton driver don'tsign Bedford north sidings

Will be because they don't have enough work there. Common all over. On the GN Hitchin and kings x don't sign Peterborough eastfield and Peterborough men don't sign Cambridge sidings.

Nottingham Driver's sign Norwich but not Crown Point depot.
If there is no diagrammed work into the sidings it's pretty pointless signing them when there are home depot Driver's available to do it should the need arise. A Driver may also have another diagrammed run following the return working, which could be delayed if they were held up whilst pottering around the sidings. Mandatory breaks and PNB's are also a factor.

About 2 or 3 years ago there was a driver manager based at Blackfriars who didn't sign Smithfield Sidings.

What about East Croydon-London Bridge via Forest Hill, and also the diversionary route via the Dulwich's? My understanding is that its signed by all 3 Thameslink depots?

Kings Lynn drivers sign everything on the GN route apart from Hitchin to Peterborough-although they may stop signing Moorgate soon.

I would have thought that Beck Jnc via birbeck would have been signed by bed and BFR drivers

Do all depots sign Herne Hill turnback?

Also, can 8/319 be diverted via Lewes? Is there a raised walkway to allow drivers to change ends like there is at Sutton?

Yes -

Yes - there's no raised walkway, but a "patio" is provided at ground level
