The MK3s where built between 1981 and 1984.
The MK2Es where built between 1972 and 1984
The MK2Fs where built between 1973 and 1975
The MK3s where built between 1981 and 1984.
The MK2Es where built between 1972 and 1984

How old is the current sleeper stock on the highland sleeper
Is that a typo ?. Mk2Es are more likely 1972-1974 ?.
I thought most coaches or locomotives accept those on the Isle of Wight that where built prior to 1976 had been replaced!
No, there's still a fair amount of Mark 2 coaching stock in use.
The "where"s certainly are.
Most of it though is doing excursion services though isn't it and not doing day in day out services?
ScotRail/DRS operated Fife Circle LHCS services make use of Mark 2 stock, as does the Northern/DRS operated Cumbrian Coast LHCS services.
There's also a number of the prototype Mark 3 coaches in service with Virgin East Coast and First Great Western, they date from 1972.
