I note there was a fatality on HS1 today. I thought HS1 was well fenced off (electric fencing?) to prevent this type of thing?

Eurostar services were suspended after a person was hit by a train on the high-speed (HS1) rail line.
The HS1 line was shut between Ebbsfleet International and Ashford International stations in Kent for about three hours on Monday.
British Transport Police (BTP) said the person, who was struck at Boxley Tunnel near Maidstone at about 09.30 BST, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Three Eurostar services from London and four from Paris were cancelled.
Some passengers were stuck on trains at the Eurostar terminals at St Pancras in London and Gare du Nord in Paris while queues built up.
A spokesman for the operator said people who were due to travel on the cancelled services would be able to exchange their tickets or get a refund....
