I applied for this, live within walking distance of the depot. Is there much opportunity for depot drivers to move to mainline with SWT? If so, how long would the wait be roughly?

I've applied for this, but I don't suppose that anybody is able to confirm the salary? According to the below link it's ~£33k but I'm sure I recall C2C recruiting depot drivers at significantly less?

http://www.traindriver.org/train-operating-companies-depots--contact-details.html

Thanks in advance.

The training salary is around £24k plus £2,000 inner London allowance (most Depot Driver training is 'on the job' so the amount of time on the training salary would vary!)

The qualified salary is around £38k plus £2,000 inner London allowance.

It's strange that the salary isn't listed in the advert as for such jobs it usually is....Maybe because they don't want applicants applying just for the salary?

I was going to apply bit I think Wimbledon is too far away from Dartford. They probably wouldn't even look at my application.

First driving job of any kind I have seen advertised by SWTs. I have been looking at their site at least once a week for almost three years now.

I am doing the same role at another company and that qualified salary for a depot driver is more than the trainee mainline salary here.
It's a great way to get your foot in the door!

At my company the average time in the depot is currently no more than 18 months before you get on the mainline course (subject to good performance).

Good luck to all that applied.

Beat in mind also that as the mainline salary at SWT is also around the 23k mark for first few months, then goes up in increments, you'd have to be prepared for a salary drop from the 40k ish salary you'll be accustomed to...quite a drop so one would need to be prepared!

Has anyone heard anything from SWT regarding this vacancy? Got my application in on time and an e-mail with a candidate ID number but not heard anything since.
