Large heritage line stations

I recently enjoyed a visit to ELR, and particularly enjoyed the atmosphere of Bury station. Four platforms, plus two places to buy food, signals galore etc. As I love a good railway station and have not travelled around the heritage lines too widely, where else should I visit for a similar experience? Also is it the largest heritage line station?

Horsted Keynes (Bluebell) and Havenstreet (IoW) also come to mind - the latter I can wholeheartedly recommend, it's just a bit out of the way!

Pickering station on the NYMR has an overall roof. I don't think any other preserved line can equal that ?

Horsted Keynes has 5 platforms and I believe it is the heritage station with most platforms.
New Romney (RHDR) has 4 platforms with an overall roof and Hythe (RHDR) has 3 platforms with an overall roof.
Havenstreet has only an island platform with two faces..???

It is indeed, but the amount of facilities and attractions it has beyond that is considerable - open workshops, museums, yards, shops, literally everything you could expect from a preserved railway: I was interpreting large to be scale of the premises, not just number of platforms. As I said, I recommend it to anyone, easily the best preserved site I've visited.

Kidderminster, Bewdley and Bridgnorth spring to mind.

Also Minehead.

A few that spring to mind:

Kidderminster Town (Severn Valley) - design based on a fair size GWR terminus station, although it only has 2 platforms.
Bewdley (Severn Valley) - 3 platforms.
Loughborough Central (Great Central) - 2 platforms but feels like a major station.

Llangollen has very long platforms

Wansford (NVR) has a long pair of through platforms and a bay, a large new-build station building on one side and the very imposing original (not yet owned by the railway) on the other.

What really makes it feel large is the extensive yard, with a 70' turntable right by the platform access ramp. The large signal gantry and controlling box and twin-track level crossing help too.

Perhaps I just have too many memories of toddling around there looking up at everything!

FR/WR departures etc

I suppose the point is that as most heritage lines were on rural branchlines, the likelihood of finding large stations are fairly small.

Maybe some of the G & W stations?

On another note. Apart from Horsted Keynes and Kingscoat on the Bluebell how many other railways have a subway between platforms.

Kidderminster on the Severn Valley is nice. It's a lot like Birmingham Moor Street if you are familiar with that place.

I once heard that the platform at Kidderminster Town was designed to take the canopy from Birmingham Moor Sreet, since at the time of construction it was known that this canopy would shortly be surplus to requirements. Things didn't quite turn out as originally thought...

For me, the most impressive preserved stations are original ones serving medium-sized towns. So that's Loughborough Central, Bury Bolton Street and (half of) Keighley.

Minehead has the longest platform on a preserved railway (20 coach lengths)
