I want to get a ticket printed in the new format. My nearest station is Formby so can't find anywhere here here (yet).

(although Northern has been doing it at a lot of their offices, they are not currently at Liverpool Lime Street - in the travel centre at least.)

Wondered if we could start a list of ticket offices that are printing tickets in the new format already.....

Also, any TVMs that are printing either on the day or ToD tickets in the new format....?

Liverpool Street London is printing the new format, but I suspect London is a little out of your way :)

Kirkham & Wesham is, I think it was one of the first ones to do so - I think a lot of the Northern Rail ones are (they were the ones trialling it)

Mauldeth Road TVM does new format only. Ticket office still prints in the original format.

Which Northern ticket offices issue tickets in the new format? I'm aware of none.

With TVMs does some central office somewhere just upload some files or data/programs upto all the TVMs and then they start using the new format?

Mrs Greenback bought a new style ticket at the Llanelli TVM. The conductor told her she didn't like them as it was difficult to see the information at a glance!

London Overground seem to be moving over to new style tickets both at ticket offices and machines. I'm not sure how many have moved over yet, but a new style ticket printed on Roundel Stock is a very common sight now.

I've seen a ticket that looks like it was bought at Harold Wood in the beautiful new font - not at all like those issued byt Parkeon at Northern / EMT nor the pretty hideous specimen the London Overgound TVM produced!

In the East Midlands Trains booking office at St Pancras the collection only machine on the right hand side offers walkons and Advance tickets in the new style. The one on the left prints in the old style; I have not tried the one in the middle.

I don't know if it makes a difference on the type of ticket collected, but I picked up an EC rewards ticket yesterday from the right hand side machine at St. Pancras and it printed in old format

It does make a difference; Rewards tickets are not available in the new format

Is the purpose of this thread to list Northern parkeon machines, or are they all new style now?

Can you say which machines (or is it all?) as I'd like to order some tickets for collection but not end up disappointed!

I thought I commented last night, but can't find the post.

At Liverpool St London, the ticket office is issuing them, not sure about machines.

Seems to have been a lot of stations going over to the new ticket format in my area over the last week. Southern TVM's at Ashtead and Epsom are both now printing them, as are the FGW TVM's at North Camp. I'm not sure if there's any pattern to the roll-out, it seems pretty random at the moment.

Does it still use the really weird tribute metal hopper printer?

Why isn't every single TVM in the country printing them? Do they not have any data link to any servers anywhere that would allow them to download the relevant data files?

Between the parallel lines
Southern Metro route TVMs are having location-based upgrades, often with different software and formats at the same station. The software upgrades are linked to a package which coincidentally also updates smartcard features (no further info is, IIRC, in public domain) and this means that only TVMs approved for certain smartcard features can print in the new format, AFAIK.
