Hi all

Eventually I'd like a list of all stations you can reach Waterloo in 45mins from (to aid a house search)

I was thinking I'd look at all arrivals between 7.30am and 8.30am as my sample

Any idea how I could do this? I had a look at the the raw data available but that looks a bit complex, has anyone seen anything that might be more simple for analysis in Excel?

Thanks!

Using wikipedia for a list of services https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_West_Trains#Routes
And then realtimetrains to check for each destination/service I can conclude that the limits are:
Sunnymeads (to Windsor & Eton Riverside), Virginia Water (to Reading/Weybridge), Kempton Park (to Shepperton), Haslemere (fast to Portsmouth, yet not Milford and Witley), Dorking, Effingham Junction (to Guildford via Oxshott, not via Leatherhead), Ash Vale (to Alton), Farnborough Main (trains to/via Basingstoke), but also Basingstoke (trains to Exeter)

Some stations between Farnborough Main and Basingstoke, between Guildford and Haslemere, Windsor & Eton line, and the Shepperton line are only up to 10 minutes extra journey time, so you could make it easier and include those too for clearer limits (Basingstoke/Haslemere/Dorking/Virginia Water)

No idea if it could be simpler and with more detail, but this wasn't too much effort either for me.

And coming into Waterloo East on Southeastern, stations out as far as Tonbridge, also stations out as far as Dartford (although not Deptford to Westcombe Park inclusive until Summer 2018).

All of the attached timetables should tell you everything you need to know!

Tables 149, 152 and 155 for SouthWest Trains from Waterloo.

Tables 200, 203 and 204 for Southeastern from Waterloo East.

Not for stations Deptford to Westcombe Park inclusive for the foreseeable future. And certainly not from Summer 2018.

I was thinking something clever in Excel but you are right, actually just looking at time timetables and making a list is probably easier! Thanks all

There won't be direct trains, but once everything is stopping at London Bridge again it will be possible in under 45 minutes with a change.

Although utterly soulless, Basingstoke represents good value for the distance, with lots of trains.

If you fancy squeezing yourself on to a train at Clapham Junction in the mornings, as well as hoping you make your evening connection back home, the Southern network opens itself up also.
