A small number of us were interchanging at York this evening and noted on arrival a railtour sat in platform 3 with a 68 on one end
We found out it was this - the Northern Belle:

We arrived at around 21:50 so it had been sat there a while and deduced there must be a problem. Walking down to the London end of the train, 57305 was sat making one hell of a racket - it sounded like it was idling at a far higher rate than it should have been (standing next to it for 25 mins may not have been the best move!). After a little while a 66 was brought in, coupled up and the whole lot left with the 57 still "idling"
Does anyone know what had caused the problem that seemed to have declared the 57 a failure?
