As this is the job & careers section I take it your after the current controlling signal is for Ely, if so that would be Cambridge PSB.

Where exactly is that box based? The location for the job is stated as "Ely", seems a bit strange that they dont just say Cambridge if thats where it actually is.

Also do you know if that PSB will be in operation long term?

I'm not from anglia route, but on our route we have relief staff still based at Home Stations long after the actual signalbox has closed mainly for administration purposes only. That could be it, or it could be that they are looking for staff for the Ely to Norwich line workstation which is also based on Cambridge PSB. There are some smaller signalboxes that fringe to Cambridge PSB in the Ely Area itself, these being Manea on the line to Peterborough, Littleport on the line Kings Lynn, Chippenham Juncton of the line to Bury St Edmunds plus also Dullingham on the Newmarket line. As for how safe are the jobs, well how long is a piece of string, especially with the migration plan in general slipping backwards!

There is a job at Littleport on the internal list but I don't think it is the same job as the one on the external list, the grades are different for a start. My guess would be the same as "Yabbadabba" in that the job on the external list is an area relief one with a home station of Ely even though there are no longer any signal boxes there.

There is indeed a relief post based at Ely. There is also an Ely MOM post.

London end as stated above - tall brick built, with very few windows. Isn't this PSB due to transfer to Romford?

Ely has NR maintenance/area portacabins situated alongside the sidings adjacent to platform 1.

Yes, at some point in the future, but given the current state of NR projects personally I wouldn't hold my breath waiting...(but no inside knowledge here, just an opinion).
