As PHILIPE Says. 150/1 and 150/2 and 153's
158's normally seen on the Cardiff - Taunton Run.
Also In the Evenings there is an Hourly HST to Weston.
and also a Daily XC service

A 158/0 works one of the two Bristol Parkway to Westons for biggest portion of day and a 158/9 works a Cardiff to Taunton circuit..

Not True. Varys most days

Diagrammed, starting with 06 16 Gloucester to Taunton. There are 2 Diagrams for 2 Sets. Day 1 ECS Bristol to Gloucester and 07 15 Great Malvern to Westbury finishing at Gloucester. It doesn't mean to say it's always a 158 though as the diagram is suitable for a 150.

150/1s, 150/2s and 153s seem to be the most common, from my own observations.

I'm surprised there is one of the two car 158s booked for Weston Super Mare - Bristol Parkway. I can think of other services it may be more suitable for!

I think they try to keep them fairly local or just for the sake of something to do. Don't forget the 150/9 on a Cardiff Taunton diagram all day.

For reference, not that one day means it is everyday, one of the weston - Bristol Pwy diagrams was a two-car 158 today. 763 if I remember correctly.

Maybe he should have put that a 158 is booked to work one of the Parkway to Weston diagrams!

Is that better for you!

Oh and I drive them and have the drivers diagrams with the intended stock written on them!

Its so that Exeter West drivers can keep their 158 competency up, other than this service they have no booked 158 work, I should know, I was one of the drivers that proposed it!

I live here and have seen Class 150's, Class 43 HST (in the evening), Class 153, Class 158 and a daily Class 220. I have been on the 150 and 43 on the route.

He is on about the service during the day, not in the evening or the daily XC route retainer!

There is a 158 booked on one of the diagrams, whether it is actually a 158 on the day is another matter!

I have also worked a 143 from Exeter to Bristol (and return) when it was booked to be a 143 but it was scaring all the Bristol drivers so they diagram a 150 on it now! ;)

Just out of interest, did 143s, when they were based at Bristol, work many of the Bristol Parkway - Weston Super Mare diagrams? I am aware they used to do the majority of the work on the Severn Beach line, but I can't find much else about other services they worked around Bristol.

They did however they were only Bristol Temple Meads to Weston - Super - Mare. Until the Platform 4 was built when it was extended to Bristol Parkway

Interesting - thanks for this!

I have seen a picture of one at Taunton working a service to Cardiff Central before - Feel sorry for passengers doing that end to end. I'm almost surprised it made it through the Severn Tunnel.

They left Bristol finally in December 2011 after all the cascaded 150/1s arrived.
When there were more of them at Bristol they had been known to work to Warminster and on the Golden Valley Line.
Last Summer , though, there was a working for one:-

18 52 Paignton to Bristol Temple Meads
21 56 Bristol Temple Meads to Exeter St Davids.

They can, on occasions, be seen at Bristol as they come to PM for certain Maintenance and tyre turning. All these movements run ECS from and back to Exeter for which paths exist in RTT that can be activated if required.

I had a 143 from Taunton to Newport once, took me until Weston-super-(night)Mare to get my pacer-legs!
