It's coming up time for the above again, I can't find anything online to confirm when they'll be happening.
Anybody got any idea when it's scheduled for?

Can confirm the dates above are correct for Tyne Valley diversions this year.
According to RTT, on the 14th you've got:Any drags or are they all going to be HSTs?
In my experience, they've always been just HST's Ainsworth
There are usually a few drags, as najaB (many thanks) has detected
The fact that they are the only three GR services of the day with a timing load for an electric locomotive, combined with the long stops at both Carlisle and Newcastle strongly hints that they are, in fact, drags. That was in East Coast days though I wouldn't put money on it now with VTEC

Does anyone have an indication on the passenger numbers on previous via Carlisle ECML diversions?
You can get the full list by filtering for GR services at Carlisle.OK sorry I misread your post I thought that was just the actual number of diverted services...
Assuming it's the diversions between Newcastle and Edinburgh where the trains are diverted along the Tyne Valley Line, from a post made on another forum;
Saturday 14th November
Saturday 21st November
Saturday 28th November
Saturday 5th December
Again, not sure I understand the question but I assume it's where Virgin East Coast services divert along the Tyne Valley line.
Some really poor paths though. 30 minute waits at Newcastle in some cases.
How come they seem to reverse at Newcastle. It would appear quicker to send them "round the loop" so to speak.
What are the diversions for by the way?
Surely they will go round the loop or they will be in the wrong formation
If they go round the loop at Newcastle they will be the wrong way around!
As they leave Edinburgh facing North and travel around a big loop via Carlisle they arrive at Newcastle facing North again - so no need to turn it.
attaching/detaching locomotives i assume plus to allow run round the loop if needed
but if they come from Glasgow second class is closest to the councourse at Glasgow Central - does that not mean second class will be facing London, with the locomotive, on leaving Newcastle
EDIT - I was looking at the Glasgow service as that is the one i would be most likely to use.
It drivers with first class first into Edinburgh, reverses and then with 1st class trailing into Carlisle/newcastle. reverses there, and 1st class is at the front for London.
EDIT sorry misread your post. It arrives at Edinburgh with FACING the London end of the platfrom then pulls out towards Haymarket with FC at the rear of the train
It is the Glasgow train i am interested in anyway!

In my experience they're usually reasonably well loaded and I don't think the diversion actually makes that much impact on loadings.
Which give more evidence to the claim that passengers would rather have a longer journey on the same train than a shorter one that involves a rail replacement bus!
