Pay for annual travelcard with RTV?

I have about £65 on a single RTV which i wanted to use towards my annual travelcard.

Farringdon refused to accept them saying "i dont make the rules", and Moorgate too refused telling me to go to Liverpool Street (where the queue was 10+ people deep) and they "stopped accepting them in May".

Any suggestions about how i can use them for/towards the travelcard?

An Overground station should be able to do it. I assume you want it on Oyster not paper?

Yes it's on an oyster.

I'll try an Overground station later... but i do wish that the Underground stations i went to actually suggested something useful.

I believe that LU stations stopped accepting RTVs a few months back, and both Farringdon and Moorgate are run by LU.

That said, I believe that there is an NR ticket office opposite the road from the LU ticket office, so maybe you went to the wrong one there.

Any National Rail ticket office including, as greatkingrat says, LOROL ticket offices should be able to do it.

I tried both - the LU side wouldnt accept the RTV and the Thameslink side couldn't do anything with Oyster.

Yes, that would make sense. Only if there were some magical powers that could merge the functionalities of these two ticket offices together.

If its not too far out of your way, try East Croydon. (Southern run it, but they load annual travelcards on Oysters if asked.)

I think the Thameslink office at St Pancras can issue tickets on Oyster and Marylebone most certainly can.

If you can get to Marylebone the staff there are very helpful and in my experience very good at solving oyster issues.

They did, but they don't now. That quietly changed without a peep (or even a sticker by the ticket office window).

I was able to get it done at Shoreditch High Street.

Most stations I passed through had a poster up for most of the month before this service was withdrawn.

The last time i used a tube office was to renew my travelcard in 2014, so i had no need to visit one (and hence see one) up to that point. Plus living in SET land where there's no tube stations generally makes me less likely to see any posters advising this.
