Earlier today I attempted to purchase a Freedom of the Northwest rover ticket at Leeds station.
The woman on duty clearly had no idea what I was asking for.
This isn't uncommon. Every year around the summer I take the inside of a week and buy a Rover Ticket and whoever and wherever I purchase it the story is the same. General staff don't seem to have a scooby what I'm asking for and always end up requesting their supervisor.
The next thing is that the ticket itself might as well be in double Dutch for the attention station staff and train guards give to it. If I wasn't so honest I could have flashed anything at them and got away with it!
I'm currently on a class 142 pacer. Say what you like about them.but, counting the seats in this Northern variant there are 53 seats and a toilet in this carriage! That's not a bad stat!
