i have two question i hope can be abnswered:

1) I have heard tell of the ATW Manchester trains running at weekends. Is this true? Are they running this weekend with it being a bank holiday?

2) With it not being a bank holiday in Scotland on 31/08/15 will the Scotrail fife loco hauled trains be running?

Don't know about (2), but as to (1), it does run on Saturdays subject to crew availability, but not all the way out to Manchester. See this thread.

cheers - i checked and couldn't see anything in RTT so assume there is no crew availability.

As you will see from the Link, does not touch Manchester, merely between Crewe and Holyhead/Bangor/Llandudno. Understand finishes 05 September.

It is running today, apparently there was a problem with a feed from Network Rail delaying it's appearing in Real Time Trains.

The 10:11 from LLJ to CTR was very lightly loaded. The 11:33 from CTR to BNG had a few more enthusiasts and other people too, but most got off at LLJ. The train from Bangor to Crewe was fairly lightly loaded, as was the one to LLD.

we caught the Llandudno - Crewe train from Colwyn Bay after the match and it was lightly loaded but an extremly pleasent way to travel. So much better than the long pendo ride form Crewe to MKC via Alsager, Stoke, Northampton, Tripoli, Saigon & Helsinki.

PS did anyone note down the DVT number?

82308.

I had to be on the 19:09 from Shotton to Penyffordd and due to it missing last week, I took a 175. I wasn't very happy to see that I would have made the connection at Shotton.

Thank you for your replies.

Whilst I appreciate the staffing problems leading to ATW not publicly advertising this train, it does seem a shame that on a busy Saturday on the North Wales Coast, when most 2 and 3 car units are packed to the gunwales,
there is this service - for more comfortable and comparatively empty!
